WHAT WE BELIEVE

Norml graphic

SHOULD CANNABIS BE CRIMINALIZED?

No.

Cannabis is legal in Canada.

No one should be criminalized for cannabis for any reason at any time.
Norml graphic

SHOULD CANNABIS CHARGES BE EXPUNGED?

YES.

ALL cannabis charges should be automatically expunged with no application process.
Norml graphic

Should patients pay tax on cannabis?

No.

Medication is otherwise untaxed in Canada.

Cannabis is medication and should be zero-rated as well.
Norml graphic

Should all adults be allowed to grow cannabis?

Yes.

While growing recreational cannabis is allowed in most provinces, it is not allowed in Manitoba or Quebec (even though growing cannabis at home is as safe as any other home gardening).
We need to change that.
Norml graphic

SHOULD CONSUMPTION LOUNGES BE PERMITTED?

YES.

It is elitist to assume that everyone has a safe and comfortable space to consume cannabis and ask questions. Cannabis smoke/vapour is not the same as tobacco smoke and should not be treated as such.
Norml graphic

SHOULD THE EXCISE TAX BE REDUCED?

YES.

Pre-legalization the excise tax was set based on $10 per gram. Now that cannabis prices are closer to half that the tax rate needs to be reduced to reflect this. The tax rate is way too high.
Norml graphic

SHOULD THE POTENCY OF PRODUCTS BE LIMITED?

No.

With properly marked packaging adults can moderate their own intake, just as they do with any other product.
Norml graphic

SHOULD PURCHASE QUANTITY BE LIMITED TO 30 GRAMS?

No.

Adults should be allowed to purchase as much cannabis as they want in one visit, just like any other legal product.
Norml graphic

SHOULD PACKAGING BE REDUCED?

YES.

Excessive packaging is wasteful and bad for the environment. Additionally, since COVID recycling programs have been eliminated. We want to see reduced waste.
Norml graphic

SHOULD MARKETING CANNABIS TO ADULTS BE LIMITED?

No.

As long as no false claims are made, and all relevant product information is made available, producers should be allowed to market their products as they see fit. Adults can make their own purchase decisions.
